Blizzard Entertainment did a really great job on how Overwatch became so far! You can play either easily or competatively, in this case i picked out D.Va for this dedicated illustartion. She has her own unique style, an atittude like no other! Ive played with this charater putting in hours on the game and i gotta say she's the real deal. Here is the a quick bio on her background down below.
D.Va is a former professional gamer who now uses her skills to pilot a state-of-the-art mech in defense of her homeland.
Twenty years ago, South Korea was attacked by a colossal omnic monstrosity that rose from the depths of the East China Sea. The massive, lumbering construct caused catastrophic damage to coastal cities before it was driven back beneath the waves. In response, the South Korean government developed a mechanized armored drone unit, called MEKA, to protect urban environments in future engagements with the omnic threat in Overwatch.
As the omnic continued to adapt, it eventually disrupted MEKA's drone-control networks, forcing the military to place pilots in the mechs. Scrambling to find suitable candidates, the government turned to the country's professional gamers, who possessed the necessary reflexes and instincts to operate the mechs' advanced weapons systems. Top stars were drafted, including reigning world champion Hana Song, also known as "D.Va." Famous for her elite skills, D.Va was a fierce competitor who played to win at all costs, and she had a well-earned reputation for showing no mercy to her opponents.
Seeing her new mission as a game, D.Va fearlessly charges into battle alongside the rest of her MEKA unit, ready to spring to her nation's defense at a moment's notice. Recently, she has begun to stream combat operations to her adoring fans, and her growing following has turned her into a global icon.

Here is the original draft sketch for the D.Va Mech. At the time i was thinking how i can apply shapes in to the figure of a mech or possible a mininture version of her mech.
This is a second draft sketch of her legs. when i did the top of the mech all finished i would just app a shape to make it easy on the shape but it was too short too like.
Here is the finished mech in all of her glory!! I am really proud how everything came out to make it look more of the mech that it is today in the game!!
These are the color swatches i used  for the whole illustration. From the color of the glass cockpit to the color my logo.
Up close and personal for better details in the illustration.
Here are the pin points for the top part of the illustration of the mech
Last but not least here are the pin points for the lower part of the illustration of the mech.
And all of the pin points for the whole body with the mech as well.
This is without the dots just the curves to show where everything is placed.
Here is the squiggly vortex shape i made for the background of the illustration. It was very simple to make the magic word to do this was duplicate, thats all it took. I just drew a shape then duplicate and make it over lape the original shape untill i can make a vortex type of illustration.
Here is the same vortex illustration i was saying before but without the dark strokes.
This is the very first illustrations i did out on my own and i was proud but it was not quite finished yet. As i said before i went lazy mode on D.Va' s legs just by using shapes for simplicity.
Final! when i put the pieces together i couldn't believe what i made for my favorite character on Overwatch! everything looks so smooth and nice and i love the gradient i did to the illustration as well. I couldnt be more pround of myself giving tribute to a favorite video game character.
And here is the final with a mock up view of the poster! i think it fits perfect!
